The Miracle of HOCl
Like most people, you are probably wondering what is HOCl? This naturally occurring substance is called Hypochlorous acid. Don’t let the word “acid” scare you. It simply means that it is slightly acidic as compared to pure water (pH7). This completely non-toxic substance produced in the human body is truly a “Miracle” of nature. Without it, we may not have survived as a species!
“In 1834, French chemist Antoine Jérôme Balard discovered HOCl as the infection-fighting compound found naturally in the white blood cells of the human body. Many believe that HOCl is the same as “bleach” (sodium hypochlorite). It is not! Although both can be used as “disinfectants” they are not the same. HOCl is many times more effective than bleach at disinfecting…and bleach can be toxic.
“HOCl is surprisingly effective at very low concentrations. It takes only a very small amount of HOCl to effectively kill bacteria and viruses and destroy proteins like inanimate pet allergens in comparison to higher pH bleach-based products.
